Nema Runyan, M.D.

Nema Runyan, MD is a dual board certified Internal Medicine specialist. She is board certified by both the American Board of Internal Medicine and by the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons. In her 40+year career, she has worked in all aspects of patient care: in the emergency room, in the hospital ward, in the ICU and in the outpatient clinic. She is experienced in handling the broad and comprehensive spectrum of illnesses that affect adults.

As a general internist, she works to coordinate care with subspecialties and provide longitudinal care and oversight of all medications and every aspect of your health. She has decades of experience managing and monitoring the complex chronic conditions of the geriatric patient.

Dr. Runyan focuses on health promotion and disease prevention with lifestyle modifications and application of evidence-based medical practices including eliminating unnecessary medications and testing.

She is member of the American College of Physicians and participates in continuing medical education. She has been a fellow of the National Kidney Foundation working in the Department of Nephrology at Emory University in Atlanta. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Tennessee. She earned her Doctorate in Medicine at the University of Istanbul. She completed her undergraduate degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

She enjoys swimming, biking and running and participates in triathlons.
